Studio 57 is a new mix studio located on the top floor of a traditional Parisian apartment building in the 2nd arrondissement.
The space was fitted out as a voice-over studio and the original intention was to adapt the existing space, however the sound insulation performance was not acceptable and the layout ultimately didn’t work for the client. We ended up stripping out the old studios and completely building the new spaces from scratch.
The building posed challenges in terms of structure, ceiling height and the roof geometry however we came up with a layout which maximises the use of the space and perfectly suits the client’s workflow.
The new studio is designed around a 7.1.4 monitoring layout, with the full Atmos integration following on as a second phase. Monitoring is based around PMC 8-2 XBD L, C, R with Ci-series surrounds, all integrated in to the new, bespoke acoustic treatment.
